Understanding Needs & Characteristics of Living Things
Grade 1 students are natural observers, questioners, and explorers! Our programs encourage students to investigate what living things need to survive, how they are similar and different, and how they interact with the world around them. Through engaging discussions, hands-on experiences, and Animal Ambassador encounters, students build their critical thinking, inquiry, communication, and problem-solving skills while developing a deeper understanding of wildlife and the natural world.

Wacky Wildlife Wonders
Nature isn’t always what it seems! Wacky Wildlife Wonders takes students on a fun-filled journey into the weird, wild, and wonderfully unexpected side of Ontario wildlife.
From rabbits with blue pee to birds that can mimic cell phone ringtones, students will uncover some of the strangest adaptations, surprising behaviours, and unbelievable-but-true facts found right here in Ontario.

Discover what Soper Creek Wildlife is all about! Welcome to the WILD gives students an inside look at who we are, the animals we care for, and the important work happening behind the scenes.
Students will explore topics like wildlife rescue, animal care, conservation, education, and what it takes to give wildlife a second chance. It’s the perfect introduction to Soper Creek Wildlife for classes looking to learn a little bit about everything!

Where does wildlife call home? Homes in the Wild takes students on an adventure to discover the incredible places Ontario animals live, hide, sleep, and raise their young!
From nests high in the trees to burrows beneath our feet, students will discover that home looks a little different for everyone in the WILD! There’s no place like a WILD home!
WILD Families
Families come in all shapes and sizes—even in the WILD! Wild Families introduces students to the amazing ways Ontario animals are born, grow, learn, and survive.
Through engaging stories, interactive activities, and fun discussions, students will discover how animal parents care for their young, how siblings and groups work together, and why some young animals are on their own from the very beginning!
Changing Seasons, Changing Lives
When the seasons change, the WILD changes too! Changing Seasons, Changing Lives takes students on a year-round journey to discover how Ontario’s plants and animals adapt to the world around them.
From spring awakenings and summer growth to fall preparations and winter survival, discover how every season brings new challenges and amazing changes!
What Do Animals Eat?
What Do Animals Eat? takes students on a tasty adventure to discover the surprising diets of Ontario wildlife!
Through interactive activities, engaging stories, and hands-on learning, students will explore what different animals eat, how they find their food, and why teeth, beaks, claws, and other adaptations can give us clues about what’s for dinner.
