At the Soper Creek Wildlife Discovery Campus, our Discovery Camps inspire children to explore, discover, and connect with the natural world through outdoor adventures, hands-on learning, and unforgettable experiences.

Every day is spent immersed in nature as campers hike forest trails, build forts, investigate ecosystems, tackle outdoor challenges, play team games, and discover the incredible world that exists just beyond the classroom. Through curiosity, exploration, and adventure, children develop confidence, resilience, independence, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.

Our philosophy is inspired by conservationist Baba Dioum, who said:

“In the end, we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught.”

We believe the best way to inspire the next generation of conservationists is to help them experience nature firsthand.

🌿 What Makes Our Discovery Camps Unique?

Discovery Camps are outdoor adventure and nature exploration camps—not animal-based camps.

While campers may enjoy scheduled educational encounters with our incredible Animal Ambassadors, these experiences are just one part of the adventure. The focus of our camps is exploring forests, discovering local ecosystems, learning outdoor skills, solving challenges, building friendships, and creating unforgettable memories in nature.

Each camp is thoughtfully designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, teamwork, and environmental stewardship while helping children build a meaningful connection with the natural world.

🌳 A True Outdoor Experience

The Soper Creek Wildlife Discovery Campus is a completely outdoor learning environment. Our camps operate rain or shine, allowing children to experience nature in every season and every type of weather.

A large covered picnic pavilion comfortably accommodates campers during severe weather and provides a gathering space for lunch, crafts, experiments, and educational activities.

Washroom facilities consist of professionally maintained portable washrooms serviced weekly by a third-party provider. Campers must be comfortable using a portable washroom independently and safely in order to participate in our programs.

Because we spend each day outdoors, campers should arrive dressed appropriately for the weather with comfortable outdoor footwear, a backpack, a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and a complete change of clothes.

At the Discovery Campus, we believe the greatest classroom has no walls.

Every hike, every challenge, every discovery, and every shared experience helps children better understand the natural world around them. By encouraging curiosity and creating meaningful outdoor experiences, we help young explorers develop confidence, compassion, and the desire to protect the wildlife and ecosystems that make Ontario such an incredible place to live.
