Donations of supplies and services help Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue to help more patients by keeping our costs to a minimum.

Here’s a list of items we need at the centre right now. If you have something you think would help but don’t see it here, contact us by email or call us at 905-442-1648.

Unfortunately, as we are a small organization, we cannot offer pick-up services for any items donated.

Household and Kitchen Items

Laundry baskets, 44L: For our little songbirds during the migration season
Electric gram scales: To weigh babies each morning
Flannel pillowcases: For small mammals & nursery feeding
Wire shelving unit: To store stacks of linens, towels and sheets for patient enclosures
Fleece, flannelette baby blankets (Please ensure that they do not have any holes, rips or frayed edges): To wrap babies while feeding, for lining of bottom of cages, for bedding, for hammocks
Folding chairs, suitable for outdoor use
High-capacity rechargeable batteries, all sizes
Kitchen shears
Large folding tables, suitable for outdoor use
Mirror: For waterfowl enrichment
Generator (up to 6500 watts)
Large cardboard boxes: For animal transport

Food and Nutrition

Fresh or frozen berries (any kind)
Frozen lake smelts (with heads)
Pedialyte (unflavoured)
Walnuts (unsalted, natural, in the shell)
Almonds (unsalted, natural, in the shell)
Pecans (unsalted, natural, in the shell)
Black walnuts
Duckweed
Ensure (vanilla or strawberry flavoured)

Heat lamps and/or shatter-resistant bulbs for heat lamps: For all hatchling turtles and any baby or teenage birds that need to be kept warm (like ducklings and killdeer, preferably 100-150 watt)
Aquarium heater
Aquarium plants: Plants and greenery help turtle hatchlings feels safe and comfortable
Electric heating pads without automatic shutoff: Babies can’t thermo-regulate
Coconut fibre substrate: For reptile enclosures
Butterfly nets (3- to 6-foot long handles)
Bird nets (Dollar Store brand with a 2-3 foot handle): For songbirds
Kennel cabs (extra-large): To transport patients between enclosures and during rescues and releases
Medium kennel cabs (with a handle)
Stock tanks (150 gallon or larger): For our injured adult turtles
Solarmeter: To check the UVB lighting in reptile and amphibian enclosures
Submersible sump pump: To pump water from our aquatic animal pools
Terrariums/reptile carriers (small): Perfect for bat enclosures
Terrarium screen
UV light bulbs: To mimic natural light
Terrarium lamps (UV lamps help to prevent metabolic bone disease in our turtles):
Live trap: For live trapping squirrels and other small mammals
Kiddie pool (hard, not inflatable): For aquatic animal enclosures
