Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue is looking for dedicated, hardworking teacher candidates to help provide a WILD camp experience to campers from 4-16 years of age.

This job is a full-time position (40 hours per week) and involves facilitating a mix of inquiry based and structured programming. Not only will you gain valuable experience related to outdoor education, but a chance to interact with some of Ontario’s most incredible wildlife such as porcupines, bobcats, wolves and skunks.

Title: Wildlife Educator: Camp Counselor
Position Start Date: May & June 2024 (will vary depending on school)
Position End Date: September 2nd, 2024 (Labour Day Monday)
Compensation: $16.55/hr
Position Status: Seasonal Full Time

Position Requirements:

  • Must meet the Canada Summer Job Grant Criteria (15-30yrs)
  • Produce Negative Police Record Check upon hire
  • Reliable Transportation to and from the wildlife center
  • Experience working with children (*bonus if experience working with animals in a hands on setting)
  • First Aid CPR Certificate (Valid)
  • Academic Requirement: High School or Attending Post Secondary
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Bonus if the candidate is currently enrolled in teacher's college or a program in the field of education.


Job Description:

To work closely with the Camp Director and Senior Staff

Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue is looking for dedicated, hardworking and experienced individuals to work with our permanent animal residents.

These positions are full-time (40-45 hours per week) and involve the care and maintenance of our permanent residents and their enclosures. This is a chance to work with some of Ontario’s most incredible wildlife such as porcupines, bobcats, wolves and skunks. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions. Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to instructions are crucial. This position is also physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and carry 50lbs. Must be comfortable working with all species, our collection includes mammals, birds, and reptiles.

Position Requirements:
  • Must meet the Canada Summer Job Grant Criteria (18-30yrs)
  • Experience working at a wildlife rehabilitation center is not required but is a bonus.
  • Produce Negative Police Record Check upon hire

Job Description:

Greet guests to our overnight villa resort.  Position requires cleaning of villas once guests check out, checking in guests, coordinating meals, escorting guests to their villa and other associated tasks to Soper Creek Wilderness Villas.

To help maintain the grounds of Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue and our overnight villa grounds. Ensure gardens are tended, paths maintained, build enclosures and general repairs around the wildlife center.
